FLOW DIAGNOSTIC

Not every delay has the same root cause.

We separate symptoms from the primary constraint by looking at queues, wait time, rework, capacity, dependencies, and exception patterns across the process.

0138 waiting

Queue Build-up

Work accumulates before one stage because capacity, rules, or priorities are out of balance.

0214.6h avg

Approval Waiting

Tasks are completed but remain blocked by unclear decisions and delegation paths.

03126% load

Capacity Mismatch

Incoming demand exceeds effective capacity across people, machines, docks, or workstations.

049.4% rework

Rework Loop

Output returns upstream because data, quality, or requirements are incomplete.

CONSTRAINT MAP

See the point limiting the whole flow.

When one stage falls out of balance, WIP builds before it and downstream teams run short of input. Improvement should begin at the constraint with the greatest effect on throughput.

FLOW RECOVERY SYSTEM

Fix the constraint without moving the problem elsewhere.

01

Detect

Capture queues, aging, waiting, rework, downtime, and blocked work from actual data sources.

02

Measure

Compare demand, capacity, cycle time, takt, throughput, WIP, and service level.

03

Protect

Set priorities, buffers, readiness, and release rules so the constraint does not lose productive time.

04

Elevate

Improve the rule, approval, capacity, layout, skill, integration, or automation with the highest impact.

05

Sustain

Use daily control, ownership, alerts, KPIs, and review cadence so the bottleneck does not become hidden again.

DAILY CONTROL

See problems before they become delays.

A control board gives teams one place to see backlog, aging, SLA, blocked work, ownership, and next action—before the end-of-day report.

IMPROVEMENT ROADMAP

Start small, prove impact, then expand.

01

Observe

Select one value stream and collect queue, cycle-time, WIP, exception, and ownership data.

02

Diagnose

Identify the primary constraint, validate the root cause, and quantify its throughput or service impact.

03

Intervene

Apply quick wins, new rules, dashboards, integration, or automation at the selected point.

04

Scale

Standardise the control loop, extend it to other processes, and measure impact continuously.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about bottlenecks and operational flow.

Clear answers about constraints, data, capacity, integration, and quick wins.

01What is an operational bottleneck?+

An operational bottleneck is a stage, resource, decision, or dependency that limits the throughput of the whole process. Symptoms include queues, waiting time, high WIP, overdue work, rework, or unstable service levels.

02How do you identify the primary bottleneck?+

The primary bottleneck is found by comparing demand, effective capacity, queues, cycle time, utilisation, aging, rework, downtime, and process dependencies. The process must be viewed end to end so the problem is not merely shifted.

03Does the solution always require more people or equipment?+

No. Many bottlenecks come from rules, priorities, readiness, approvals, data, layout, handoffs, or integration. Capacity is added only when the root cause and business case are validated.

04Can TEKADA use data from existing systems?+

Yes. Data can come from ERP, MES, WMS, HRIS, accounting, spreadsheets, databases, machines, or internal applications through APIs, databases, file exchange, and suitable integration methods.

05How quickly can initial results be seen?+

Quick wins can appear after one value stream is mapped and the constraint is validated. Actual timing depends on data availability, handoffs, integration complexity, and required process changes.

START WITH THE CONSTRAINT

One bottleneck can hold back the whole operation.

We help map the process, measure the constraint, prioritise quick wins, and build sustainable digital control.
